Diets and cleansing scams.
I think I am just naturally a skeptical person. But I try to keep an open mind and will try just about anything.
Before we go any further, I have not tried this, nor do I intend on trying it. But I have played with Intermittent Fasting ( click here ) with multiple types of compressed eating windows.
But I have recently been approached by a few people asking me about something they heard about recently, “The Master Cleanse” diet, or “The lemonade diet” as its called.
It doesn’t stop there, I have spoke to people here and there that are telling me they are going through a toxin cleanse, fruit flush, or some other kind of barely-any-caloric-intake diet.
Even with Intermittent fasting you still maintain a compressed eating window where you eat all of your calories through the day, and every warning prior to starting it is that your sleep, stress, nutrition, and training must ALL be top notch. Or you had better expect to get sick, or do some serious damage to yourself.
There are a lot of weight loss diets out there like this, and a lot of them work for what they claim, to lose weight. Do you know why? because you are taking in 100 calories a day, thats why, or at the very least, under your current caloric intake.
Do a little research before you start something, start simple, hey…here is is wiki page
Be even more skeptical after seeing that his page starts with “Early life, Later Years,” then the majority of the content is under “Controversy and Legal Problems”
We have had many people here play with, The Zone, Atkins, Weight Watchers, The South Beach, Mediterranean diet, and of course, Paleo.
Any of which I wouldn’t mind people attempting, any attempt to better themselves in any way possible. Do it! Ask yourself, does the diet involve you watching what you eat? making better choices? sure, do it up.
I just would not advocate a diet where there have been multiple deaths tied to said diet.
Here, why not bring back the tapeworm diet.
I’ll leave you with his legacy at the bottom of his page
