Open Gym time for Current Crossfit South Bend Members

We now offer Open gym hours for Crossfit South Bend members, understand that this type of flexibility is typically not allowed in the majority of Crossfit Gyms. This is a trial period, we will see how well it goes, if we need to change any of the rules below we will do so and send out a reminder to people who are currently signed up for open gym classes. So we ask that you read, understand, respect, and follow our rules below for open gym.

These classes are directed toward those Crossfit South Bend members who have been given weakness biased work from skill sessions that are included in their membership, or additional ones can be purchased here, are making up missed workouts, or have paid for individual programming that is better suited for their specific goals, i.e. strength, competitive, olympic weightlifting, gymnastics specific programming. More details on individual programming can be found by clicking here.

Other Rules and Details for Open Gym

1. You must write your name on the whiteboard when you are finished: We still track attendance from the whiteboard

2. The duration of the Open Gym time is one hour. From time to time we may be here a little after the open gym time, but if the open gym time states “9:00 – 10:00” do not get into the gym at 9:50am and expect to run your training for an hour

3. This is OPEN GYM TIME, this is not a structured class. Meaning Carl and I are here to oversee the Open Gym, but may be doing other work.

4. If there is a Crossfit South Bend Group Class going on during that hour, that class takes precedence over what you may doing. Meaning: Look at what the class is doing for that day, and stay out of the way of the class, if you see that the class is doing box jumps that day, and your workout happens to require 9 plyo boxes, you may have to give up a box or two.

5. Clean up after yourself, period. If you leave bars, bumpers, kettlebells, or any kind of mess out, and it becomes a trend. You will no longer be able to attend open gym.

6. Why some times are omitted from the open gym schedule: Some class times are far busier than others, i.e. Monday – Thursday 5:30 – 6:30, we typically have multiple classes going on at that time. That is why we ask that you stick to the schedule that is set here on Front Desk.

7. These rules are subject to change if we notice other possible issues with open gym 🙂
