This will be an Olympic Weightlifting class, the term “weightlifting” although is thrown around a lot in the fitness world. Is exclusive to the sport of weightlifting, meaning, the Snatch and Clean & Jerk. Our goal for this class will be to provide a better learning environment with longer classes meant specifically for the sport of weightlifting. This is a program in it of itself, not necessarily a supplementary program, that will be run in 4-6-8 and 12 week “blocks” of weightlifting. Prerequisite for admission into the class:
You must have some basic level of competency to be granted admission to the class – You must have some basic understanding of the Snatch and Clean and Jerk as a lift and be able to perform it when asked albeit not perfectly.
You must be able to make it to 90% of the classes, if your schedule allows for something very close to that and you would like to plead your case, keep reading and put it into the email you will be sending us.
There will be no “jumping around from class to class” You do not drop in on this class for one day, and then disappear for the remainder of the classes. Like our strength and conditioning class, this is a set schedule with set athletes, and the span of control of the coach will be around 8-10 athletes to start. We want to make sure we give these athletes who can commit to all of the classes the attention they deserve. Not having 10 sporadic athletes who occasionally show up, if we have 70% attendance, it leads to 70% results.
